Born on July 15, 1958, in Lawndale, California to Evelyn Ann and Martin Francis Engel. Paul lived a life marked by dedication, creativity, and quiet strength. He worked for over 40 years as a master tool builder and foreman at Northrup, where he was admired for his unmatched skill in advanced fabrication and tooling. Known for his strong work ethic, Paul consistently put in long hours and commuted great distances—never once shying away from hard work.
Paul had an exceptional gift for craftsmanship, especially in woodworking. His ability to turn raw materials into beautiful, lasting creations was nothing short of masterful. In his early years, he took great pride in his red Datsun pickup, spending hours meticulously caring for it. He also enjoyed playing on a co-ed softball team, where his competitive spirit and camaraderie shone through.
A man of many passions, Paul had a fondness for collecting Hot Wheels, model trains, and movies. He was a devoted fan of The Goonies, Private Eyes, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars, all of which he watched countless times. He found joy in the magic of Disneyland, especially rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
At home, Paul loved relaxing in his spa while listening to music, often after a day of “treasure hunting” at local thrift stores. He took great pride in having a backyard pool, where he spent many peaceful hours with family.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Mariska; his sisters, Debbie and Cindy; his brother, Marty; his seven children: Lynette, Meghan, Paul Martin, Joseph, Hannah, Henry, and Harley; and ten grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and craftsmanship that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Paul will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
