On the early morning of December 31, 2014, Phil was called home to be with the Lord. After a month of sudden illness, God found it fit for Phil to join his wife Rosemary (Maducca). Rosemary preceded him in death 26 years ago. Phil was born on November 15, 1927 in the San Tamatao Ranch to Dolores and Santiago Mendoza. Phil was the youngest of six children, Henry Mendoza (brother), Lupe Mendoza (sister), and Mary Nelson (sister) all who have preceded him in death. Sisters, Carmen and Frances Mendoza are longtime residents of Beaumont. Phil had married his wife Rosemary Espinoza in the year of 1950 and had been married for 39 years up until her passing in 1989. He is survived by his five children, Phil Mendoza (Margo) of Banning, Robert Mendoza of Beaumont, Dolores Moreno (Richard) of Thousand Palms, Chris Mendoza (Yvonne) of Beaumont and Hope Gonzalez (John) of Banning. Phil leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and 2 great great grandchildren. Phil was a Korean Veteran in the United States Army where he served 3 years. His career included working as a truck driver for 7 years with Imperial Hay and he had worked in construction for over 30 years. He enjoyed spending family time, if it was barbequing at his sisters, being involved in our community relay for life of picnics at Bogart Park. Phil’s legacy will live on through his family which he took such pride in. Phil was very much loved by family and friends.
