

Richard passed away March 23, 2017 at the age of 96. He was born in Illinois and moved to California with his family as a youth where he completed his education. At the onset of WWII, he joined the Army Air Corp and was sent to England. He proudly served until the end of the war, and when he came home, he married his high school sweetheart, Sunny. They settled down in Alaska, until Richard was called to service again in Korea.
After the war, Richard began his career in aero-space at North American Aviation. His accomplishments were many, Project Engineer for aircraft, space programs and under seas oil production system. He founded the Society of Logistic Engineers, which have chapters throughout the US and abroad.
Richard and Sunny loved to host Hawaiian style pool parties at their home in Palos Verdes where all friends and family would gather. He loved the ocean, and a great joy was when he sailed a 32’ Sloop from California to Kona.
At retirement, they moved to Sun Lakes, enjoying golf, many new friends, and even some old ones. They were married 59 years before Sunny passed away. He was pre-deceased by his two brothers, Larry and Ron. Richard leaves behind his Brother In Law, many nieces and nephews, and a lifetime of friends. He was a long time and devoted member of the Fellowship of the Pass Church in Beaumont. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the church.
