

Beloved Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Veteran passed away on November 10, 2011 in Cherry Valley, CA at the age of 75. Bob is survived by Sylvia, his beautiful wife of 50 years, his sister Molly, 4 Children Sheree (Kevin Pope), Robert, Michael (Beverly), and Kevin (Janice), 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Bob and Sylvia raised their family on both Pomona Street and Tamarind Ave in Bloomington for over 30 years. Bob was a 20 year youth sports coach in Little League baseball, Pop Warner, and Jr. All American Football in both Colton and Bloomington. Bob was also active in the Bloomington Lions Club, serving one term as President. Bob also enjoyed quarter midget car racing, water skiing, boating at the Colorado River, Golf at the Highland Springs Village Golf Course, and Notre Dame Football.
Bob was born in 1936 to Robert and Beth Kelley in Glendale, CA. After the birth of his sister Karolee, the family moved to San Bernardino when Bob was 10, and he attended Holy Rosary, Villanova Prep, St. Bernadine’s and was in the first graduating class at Pacific High School in San Bernardino. He attended San Bernardino Valley College and then enlisted in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958 during the Korean War.
Bob returned from the Navy to work at his father’s bar, Kelley’s Kocktail Lounge in Colton, CA. Bob and Sylvia married in 1961 and moved to Bloomington, CA. He worked for the Federal Government at the Civil Defense Office at Mira Loma until it closed. Bob began his lifelong career as an Exterminator, beginning with Western Exterminators, Antimite, and then opening Kelley’s Pest Control in Bloomington with his son Michael.
Bob and Sylvia moved to Highland Springs Village in Cherry Valley CA, in 1992. As members of the Men’s and Women’s Golf Club, Bob and Sylvia were recently honored with 18 years of service as the Project Leaders for the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner/Dance. He worked part time at the Banning Airport from 1995 to 2010, and also had two “hole in one” achievements at the HSVGC.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 17, 2011, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, both at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave, Beaumont. Graveside service will follow at 1:15PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside and a celebration of Robert's life will be held at the Highland Springs Clubhouse from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
In lieu of flowers, Sylvia has asked that you make a donation in the name of Robert Kelley to the Ronald McDonald House in Loma Linda. For over 10 years, Bob has raised money for the charity through continuous collection of aluminum can tabs.
