Those who knew Shakeel remember a presence that was both steady and kind—a gentle giant whose compassion was felt in quiet, everyday ways as much as in life’s larger moments. He had an ease about him that drew people in, making friends readily, and his smile—bright and genuine—had a way of lifting the entire room.
Shakeel’s care for others showed clearly in the things he loved and the time he gave. He was an excellent dog trainer, patient and attentive in a way that reflected his natural warmth. He also enjoyed video games, finding simple joy in play and connection, and he took a sincere interest in botany, appreciating the calm and wonder found in growing things. He loved cooking for his family and others, every meal he prepared was cherished, and his cooking will be missed.
Shakeel is survived by his mother, Ayesha Karim, and his brother, Kristopher Karim.
