

Bill was born June 15, l931 in North Tonawanda, New York and passed away on Monday October 27, 2014 at his home in Nuevo.
He spent his early years in North Tonawanda until l948 when he and his mother and grandmother moved to California settling on a ranch in Homeland. Bill was always a very free spirited young man. He joined the U.S. Navy in l950 and spent time overseas during the Korean Conflict.
He married Derris Odermatt in l953 and they soon started their family. Bill entered the electrical apprentice program with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and his career included supervision of large industrial and commercial projects throughout Riverside County. He was a proud member of the I.B.E.W. Local #440 of Riverside for 60 years.
Bill was a people person with many friends and loved discussions on a variety of topics from local news to politics and whatever. He gave generously of his time to everyone and helping with anything he could to see things would happen and get done.
One of the love’s of his life beside his family and friends was going to yard sales and acquiring treasures to show his family and friends.
Bill is survived by 2 daughters; Taryn Benson of Beaumont, Larel Weaver (Lew) Kalispell, MT and son Tim Washington (Karen) of Beaumont, his loving companion Sylvia Massey of Homeland, 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Derris and son Billy Washington.
A gathering for a Celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Sunday Nov. 2, 2014 at 2:30 P.M.
