Alva Lee Warden Hernandez, 85, of Midway, passed away November 15, 2015. She was the daughter of the late William Elbert Warden and Gracie Beavers Warden. She was born April 9, 1930 in Stanaford, West Virginia. Alva enjoyed the company of people. She loved socializing with people she met at flea markets and yard sales. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Buddy Hernandez and sister, Elizabeth Hicks. Those left to cherish Alva’s memory are son, Marvin Hernandez and wife Diana of Midway; brothers, William Darrell Warden Sr. and wife Dorothy of Florida and Demary Warden Sr. of Michigan and a host of nieces, nephews and beloved friends. Friends may gather with the family at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Wednesday, November 16, 2015 from 12-2 pm. Services will be held at the funeral home, Wednesday, November 16, 2015 at 2 pm. Burial will follow after at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Bowers Hospice House of Southern West Virginia, Beckley.
