Claude Owen Caldwell

Born March 20, 1938 in Raleigh County he was the son of the late Lonnie and Anna Walker Caldwell.

Claud was a retired coalminer, and a longtime member of the UMWA. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his three brothers: Raymond, Roger, and Donnie “Don” Caldwell.

Those left to cherish his memory include his four children Claude Earl Caldwell, Barbara “Susie” Smith and husband Tom, Jerry Caldwell and his wife Dena, and Zach Caldwell. One Granddaughter Christina. Two Brothers: David and Janice Caldwell, Terry “Buck” Caldwell, and companion Sheila Harvey. Three sisters: Sue Phillips, Jane and Leroy Shrewsberry, and Lee and Ronnie Griffith, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends he loved as family.

Services will be held Thursday July 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Bolen officiating. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
