Conley Gordon, age 71, of Shady Spring, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House. Born on May 16, 1948 in Logan County, WV, he was the son of the late John F. Gordon and Ethel Davis Gordon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnnie Gordon. Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 48 years, Beverly Mullens Gordon; his daughters, Meredith Stevens and her husband, Robert, and Amy Shupe; his grandchildren, Raegan Stevens and Chase Stevens; his sister, Christine Carter; and his brother, Ronnie Gordon.
Conley was a member of Joyful Life Baptist Church in Beckley. He was an avid golfer and an avid baseball player. Conley graduated from Mullens High School where he played baseball. He then continued his baseball career at West Virginia Tech, having tried out for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He retired after 43 years from Mabscott Supply.
A private visitation and funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Dr. Phil Smith will officiate the funeral service. Burial will be held following the services in the Garden of The Last Supper of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
A public service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
