Rev. Curtis William Monk

Mr. Monk was born on June 29, 1936. He was a long standing member of the Freewill Baptist Church and served his Lord and Church as Pastor and Evangelist. He preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ for many years but his life was his greatest sermon. He lived what he preached and we have truly lost a great man of God.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, John Monk of Odd and Edward Monk of Mount View; nephew, Robert Workman of Beckley.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Bill Monk and wife Chere of Dunbar and Wayne Monk and wife Kym of Winchester, VA; step-daughter, Patty Ward and husband Brent of Waynesboro, PA; sister, Marie Workman of Beckley; niece, Debbie Woods of Beckley. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren who he loved dearly.

Friends may gather with the family Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 12-2pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 2pm, Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Legg bringing the message from the Lord.
