Dakery Payne Mullins, 87, of Bradshaw, WV resided in Dublin, VA passed away Monday, April 11, 2022, peacefully. Born December 5, 1934; she was the daughter of the late Atlee Counts and Margaret Smith Counts. Dakery loved cooking, church, and her family. She also owned many businesses including a nursing home and several different types of restaurants. She attended Princeton Pentecostal Church when her health would allow it.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Jesse Jack Payne, and her second husband Jimmie Dee Mullins; two brothers Emerson Counts and James “Jimmie” Counts and one sister Jaqueline Payne. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons Jackie Ray Payne and his wife Mary of War, WV, and Bobby Payne and his wife Laurissa of Dublin, VA; Grandkids Jessie Ray Payne of Walnut Creek, CA, Matt Payne of Pulaski, VA, Cheyanna Eller of Dublin, VA, Allyson Payne of Aroda, VA, Preston Eller of Dublin, VA, Chaz Payne of Dublin, VA; Great Grandkids Jiali Payne and Emma Marie Payne. Celebration of life will be held at Grandview Memory Gardens; Visitation will be from 1:30-3:30 with the service immediately following.
