Born on January 24th, 1960, he was the son of Dallas Jones and Ruby Lafferty Jones.
Dallas had a love for life, enjoying many things. He appreciated classic cars and attending car shows, collecting sports memorabilia, and flea marketing. He also enjoyed attending Friday night High School football games, and particularly watching his grandkids play; he treasured spending time around town at places such as Goodwill and the mall. Dallas cherished his time with us, and was especially cheerful at Christmas time, a season which he greatly enjoyed.
A graduate of Mullens High School, class of 1978, Dallas then attended WVU Tech in Montgomery, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 1983 in Electrical Engineering Technology.
After school, Dallas worked for AEP, retiring in 2021 after 34 years of service. He dedicated his life to his work and was well respected by his colleagues.
In addition to his father, Dallas was preceded in death by a twin brother, Edward Dean Jones; a sister, Vickie Raye Dixon; and a nephew, Michael David Peterson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Ruby “Nell” Jones of Crab Orchard, WV; Sons, Jeremy Jones of Honolulu HI, and Jerrod “Jay” Jones (Cassie) of Beckley, WV; a daughter, Julie Jones of Beckley, WV; Grandsons, Saige Jones of Honolulu HI, Jay Jones, Landon Jones, Brayden Jones, Ryder Jones, Jaxon Jones, and Tristan Jones, all of Beckley, WV; granddaughters, Ava Weed of Honolulu HI, Sophia Jones and Alyse Johnson, both of Beckley, WV; sisters Judy Petersen of Wheeling WV, and Cheryl Jones of Crab Orchard, WV. Dallas is also survived by a girlfriend, Mary Sayers and her family of Beckley, WV, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Dallas loved his children and grandchildren more than anything. He had a host of friends no matter where he went. He was one of a kind: to know him was to love him.
