

Deborah "Debbie" Baisi Lively, aged 71, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, after a long battle with cancer at Bower's Hospice House in Beckley, West Virginia. Born on December 2, 1953, she was the beloved daughter of the late Neal and Geraldine Baisi of Charlton Heights, West Virginia. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Michael “Mike” Baisi, and her mother and father-in-law, Melvin and Frances Lively.
A beloved wife, mother, nana, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Debbie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 42 years, Charles “Chuck” Lively; her son, Chad Honaker of Florida; her daughter, Cassie Bonifacio, and husband Julius Bonifacio; and her three cherished grandchildren, Airlie, Dylan, and Lucca, all of Florida. She is also survived by her brother, Patrick (Pat) Baisi of Florida; brother-in-law, Jerry Lively; and many adored nieces and nephews.
A dedicated educator of 31 years, Debbie was a retired schoolteacher who made a lasting impact on countless students throughout her career in Fayette County Schools, including Collins Middle School, Gauley Bridge High School, Valley Elementary, and Mount Hope High School. She held a bachelor's degree from the West Virginia Institute of Technology and was a proud member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, an organization dedicated to promoting professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. Debbie was also recognized for excellence as a distinguished educator in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
Debbie's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, her passion for teaching, and her generous spirit. She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the love she shared with everyone around her, especially her family.
A celebration of life will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens (5251 Robert C Byrd Dr, Beckley, West Virginia 25801) on Saturday, July 26th at 1pm. The family will receive visitors one hour prior.
In honor of Debbie’s memory, the family requests that any donations be made to Hospice of Southern WV Inc and Bradley Freewill Baptist Church.
