She was born on December 18th, 1944 in Ameagle, WV to Warren B. Janey and Betty Louise Kinder Janey, who predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, James Lewis Huffman II and sister, Phyllis Jo Janey.
She is loved and survived by husband of almost 62 years, James “Jimmy” Huffman, daughters, Pamela Jennifer “P.J.” Huffman, Julie Raye Garris and “son” Nathan Garris. Grandchildren, Corey James Kaiser (Alexis), Haley Raye Kaiser and Janey Raye Garris. Great grandchildren, Declan Levi Hibbett, Averie Raye Kaiser and Jaxton James Kaiser. Sisters, Deanna Phillips, Jenny Janey, Pamela Janey Noplis (Brian) and sister in law, Jennifer Huffman Cole (Don). Several nieces and nephews, many cousins, friends and “jammers” as well. Special family friends to mention – Mike Toppins and The Burris Family.
Donna spent her young life in WV and considers it her home but lived most of her life in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated in 1962 from Grandview Heights High School. Jimmy followed there from WV and they started their life having 3 children and just shy of 62 years together. For many years, she worked as a Lead Purchasing Agent for Battelle Memorial Institute. After retirement, they moved to Orlinda, TN and finally to Franklin, KY. She was a GREAT singer and sang around Columbus, Ohio, Broadway in Nashville, TN, Veterans Clubs locally in Franklin and recorded in a Nashville studio. On Wednesday nights for approximately 40 years, they hosted a jam session and played music with some of the finest Columbus and Nashville had to offer. Her passion had to be all the kiddo’s in her life that called her, “Buggy”. Not all were related. She claimed babies she wanted regardless of blood ties. Some of her brightest and biggest smiles were in the presence of kids she loved. She was a loving wife, tremendous Mother and an exceptional Buggy. She loved real country and bluegrass music and often posted videos sharing it with friends. She said she wanted a home where people felt welcome, comfortable and didn’t feel like they had to take off their shoes. Anyone would say that’s exactly how they felt around her. She would tell anyone like it is, she was funny, she was beautiful and easy going. She’d often say, “Roll with the flow.” Her loss is a valley, not simply a hole in the hearts of her loved ones. She would expect them to trust the Lord and remember He is holding their hands, she would want them to remember with laughter, she’d want everyone to make sure Jimmy has eaten, she want to be ever present in the memories of her babies and she’d want all of you to cheer for WV and The Steelers – win or lose. The family has requested that memorial gifts be made to Salmon’s General Baptist Church, Po box 1004, Franklin, KY 42135.
