

Born on January 3rd, 1927, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Hobert and Pearl Carter.
Edith was married to Edward C. Rogers, who passed away in 1986. She then married Harold Thompson in 1993, who later passed in 2006.
Edith, or more affectionately known as “Nan”, loved to crochet, read, go shopping, solve crossword puzzles and travel to different places. Nan was an amazing person. She was known for kindness, compassion, and loving all those who knew her.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold “Boyd” Carter and Tom Carter, and a sister, Beulah Seeders.
Left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Pearl E. Higgins of Buckhannon, WV; three grandchildren, Dawn Swiger (Kevin) of Youngsville, NC, Terry Lee Higgins (Beckie) of Martinsburg, WV, and Kelli Ervin (Terry) of French Creek, WV; four great-grandchildren, Madison and Nolan Swiger, and Emma and Trey Higgins; two brothers, Donald Carter (Carol) and Rodger Carter (Sandra).
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sharon Webb, Alyce Fleck and Alan Fleck of Maple Heights Ohio, for the care and many hours of fellowship they provided to Nan.
Edith “Nan” is now resting in the loving arms of Jesus Christ.
Funeral services for Edith “Nan” will be on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at 1PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 11AM until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens following the service.
