Mr. Edward Franklin Harris

  Blue Ridge Funeral Home Beckley, WV   Edward Harris        Edward Harris, 59 of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.  Born November 6, 1954, he was the son of Louise Cochran Harris and the late Franklin Harris.   Edward retired from US Steel Mining Company after 30 years of service.  He was a manager at the Erma Byrd Center for 7 years.  Edward enjoyed turkey hunting; and was a licensed private pilot.  He was the Pastor for 4 years at Hotchkiss Missionary Baptist Church and 24 years at Cove Creek Community Church.   In addition to his father, Franklin Harris, Edward is preceded in death by a son, Phillip Harris.   Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Brenda Harris; children, Alisha Hughart and husband, Darrell; grandchildren, Auston and Benjamin, Sarah Smith and husband Steven; grandchildren, Sierra and Spencer, Jonathan Harris; mother, Louise Harris; brother, Mitchell Harris and wife Crystal; sister, Beth Glover and husband Jeff; nephew, Aaron.   Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Beckley with Pastor Dennis Burks officiating.   Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.   Friends may gather with the family Saturday from 1 -2 PM at the funeral home.   Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.blueridgefuneralhome.com   Donations may be sent to the Cove Creek Community Church in memory of Pastor Ed.   Arrangements by Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C.
