Ella Mae Bowles

Ella was born at Claremont, WV on October 24, 1931, to the late Oswald and Delphia Adkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Bowles.

Ella was the oldest of 7 children and was preceded in death by her sister Anna and brothers Donald and Jerry.

She is survived by her son Roger and wife Patty, and daughter Ronda Surbaugh Bowles, who has been her mom’s caregiver for many years.

She is also survived by her brother Jimmie Adkins, sister Wilda De La Garze and sister Linda and husband Arley.

Ella had 4 grandchildren, Julie and husband Jonathan, great grandchild, Brendon, Jill Holliday and husband Alan, great grandchildren Grayson and Natalie, Angela and husband Chris, great grandchildren Caleb and Kadee, Roger II and fiancé’, Jessica.

Ella was a cook for many years at the Green Sulphur School. She also worked at the Sandstone Visitor Center, Hinton Hospital, and she worked as the Site Manager at Sandstone Council on Aging. She loved helping people and made many friends. She loved watching a variety of TV shows when she was relaxing.

Ella had great faith in God. She was a member of the Lick Creek Baptist Church.

Ella will be greatly missed by all and remembered for her love of family and friends.
