Our Wife, Mother and Nanny, Evelyn Ruth Mills, went to meet her Lord and Savior on October 8, 2024. She fought a long, hard battle and endured much pain along the way. As hard as it is not to have her here, we know she is in a better place now with no suffering.
Evelyn was born in Itmann, WV on March 12,1948, the daughter of the late William Haga and Mary Walls Haga. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Louise, Kay, Billy, Cotton, Wayne and Carl.
Evelyn worked for the school system and in retail for a number of years. She loved Daytona Beach, Biloxi Mississippi, spending time with her family and was an avid bingo player.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 54 years, Harrison Mills Jr, her daughter Stephanie Lynn Nelson and spouse David, granddaughter Cassidy Lynn Hayes and husband Jason, grandson Colton Joe Nelson and many other extended family members.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday October 22, 2024, from 11:00 am until noon at the funeral home with graveside service immediately following at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
