

In addition to her parents, Gracie is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Arnold B. Kidd, Jr.; five infant sons; grandson, Kenneth Paul Hinzman, II; great-grandsons, Jayce Reid and Ashton Reid; brothers and sisters, Hershel Hylton, Herman Hylton, Virginia Mae Boling, Clydia Luttrell, Willie Farley, Macie Bell, Bertha Blackwell and Isaac Hylton.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Rebecca Hinzman and husband, David of Beckley, Anita Jo Hinzman and husband, Kenneth of Martinsburg, Arnold “Bert” Kidd, III and wife, Helen of Crab Orchard; grandchildren, Michelle Ballard, Crystal Hinzman and partner, Mike, David “Dray” Hinzman and wife, Emilee of Beckley, Kerri Hinzman, Amanda Mills and husband, Blake, Kristina Jordan and husband, Ross, Kody Hinzman and wife, Ashley, Kennadee Walter and husband, David all of Martinsburg, Arnold “BJ” Kidd, IV and wife, Sara of Severance CO, Dr. Jesse Kidd, Ph.D. and wife, Rachel of Gurnee IL, Johnathan Schultze and partner, Katie of Morgantown, WV, and Faith Kidd and husband, Robert of Fort Collins, CO; 27 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren, and a special nephew, Greg Hughes; brothers, Junior Hylton of Beckley, Douglas and Norma Hylton of Coal City and Lewis and Martha Hylton of Cool Ridge.
Gracie devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She had a special and unique relationship with each and every one of her grandchildren, whether a visit or to have her babysit, she was attentive to their every whim and desire. Each grandchild had their own special memory from hiding baby bottles to walking the toy yellow duck. She enjoyed singing her whimsical songs to give everyone a laugh.
She enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood and all of her adventures that she experienced while growing up in rural WV.
Gracie lived her life full of laughter and contentment as long as she was surrounded by her family as she was in her last days.
Gracie also worked at Pinecrest Sanitarium, Comfort Inn and the Register Herald newspaper.
Services will be held 1:00PM Wednesday February 19, 2025 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Kenneth P. Hinzman officiating . Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family Tuesday from 6 – 9 PM at the funeral home.
The family appreciates the thoughts and prayers from all the family and many friends. They would especially like to thank Mandy and Shelly for their loving help in her transition to her new life. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Southern WV for their care and support during such a difficult time.
