Iris Devon Sweeney

She was born October 26, 1936, to Ira and Grace Gunther. Iris was a lifelong resident of Beckley, WV. Iris was long time member of Faith Community Church in Beckley, WV.

Iris worked at Beckley Manufacturing and Hill's Department Store for many years.

Her death was preceded by her parents, husband Neal Sweeney, four sisters, Peggy Sue Zacheo, Jeanie Tippner, Fran Rejonis and Ann Anderson along with one brother Jack Gunther and a step-daughter, Doreen Sweeney.

Left behind to cherish her memory are two sons, Timothy Gunther and wife Joan of Winston-Salem, NC and Mike Sweeney and wife Cindy from Bruceton Mills, WV, two step-daughters Cheryl Meadows of Smithfield, KY and Rhonda Keys of Shelby Township, MI, and a brothers, Mike Gunther and wife Debbie of Beckley, WV and Jim Gunther of Charleston, WV. Iris leaves behind a very special friend Joe Chambers of Beckley, WV and multiple grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Special thanks to the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
