Jack Elliott Janney

Jack Janney, of Crab Orchard, passed away on April 2, 2020 after a long illness. Jack was born on November 14, 1929 in Charleston, WV to the late Stephen Elliott Janney and Grace Shumate Janney.

Jack was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He retired from Flowers and Betsy Ross Bakeries, working a total of 35 years. Jack was also self-employed for several years. Jack and his wife, Charlotte were members of Oak Grove Christian Church in Beckley since 1972.

Jack was married for 65 years to the love of his life, Charlotte Ann Williams Janney. He was also survived by two sons, Keith E. Janney of Beckley and Kevin L. Janney and his ex-wife, Diane of Crab Orchard; a special granddaughter, Maddy Janney; step grandchildren, Brendhan Wood and Shelli Dutton; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Bower.

He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Abigail Dutton; his 2 brothers, WC and his wife, Pat, and Richard and his wife, Patty; a sister, Audrey and her husband, Jim Kirk; and brother-in-law, Si Bower.
