James Edward Ellison

He was born January 3, 1934 at Carlisle, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Mack Russell Ellison and Nellie Ellen Jones Ellison.

Jim was a retired coal miner from Pittison Coal Company of Sabine. He was a member of the UMWA and Mabscott Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force, a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Ann Ellison and Mary Frances Russell; brother, Mack R. (Micky) Ellison, II.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 53 years and 9 months, Brenda Sue Blake Ellison of Mabscott; sons, James E. (Jamie) Ellison II of Mabscott, Richard Ray Ellison and wife Theresa of Leesburg, VA, and Ronald Mack Ellison and wife Jennifer of Monroe, GA; grandchildren whom he loved very much, Isaac Blake Ellison (a marine at 29, Palms, CA), Nicholas Ryan Ellison of GA and Emaleigh Grace Ellison of GA; brother, Richard Ray Ellison and wife Dorothy of Cherryville, NC.

Friends may gather with the family Monday, December 19, 2016 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home from 1-2pm

Funeral service will be held 2pm, Monday, December 19, 2016 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Douglas Holley officiating.

Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to Bowers Hospice House in honor of James’ name.
