

James Roy Lilly 92, of Beaver went home to be with his Lord, on Sunday February 13, 2022, following a long illness. Born July 1, 1929 in Ellison Ridge he was the son of the late Corbett Lilly and Thressie Lilly Amick and stepfather Orval Amick.
James was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed gardening, NASCAR, fishing, strawberry ice-cream, and eating at his favorite restaurant Kirk’s in Hinton. He was also a member of Victory Baptist Church in Beaver.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ella Geraldine Matherly Lilly.
Those left to cherish his memory include his 4 sons, Leroy Lilly and wife Kay of Chester Va, Vivan Lilly and wife Mary of Eleanor, Jerry Lilly and wife Connie of Grandview, and Keith Lilly and wife Jane of Cool Ridge; his daughter Debbie Wickline and her husband Randy of Daniels. 8 grandchildren: Pam Winn and husband Clif of Chester, Va, and Steven Lilly, of Chester Va., Patricia Cook and husband Brian of Bridgeport, Bridget Bennett and husband Jeremy of Nashville Tenn, Zachary Lilly and wife Bronwyn of Fairmont, Hannah Smith and husband Jason of Suffolk, Va, Sarah Mollish and husband Steven of Ellison Ridge, and Jeremy Wickline of Daniels; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Patrick Amick and wife Melba of Hinton; two sisters, Kathleen Matherly and husband Jarrell of Flat Top, and Athleen Ratliff of Prince George, Va.; sister-in-law, Blanche “Tude” Hurst and her husband Dave of Cocoa, Fl; and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
The family would like to thank the caregivers through the years for all the help, care, and compassion they have received.
Services will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Dr. Rollan Roberts officiating. Following the service James will be laid to rest in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
