

Angels rejoiced as Jeanette Faye Sweeney Cook, 85, of Beckley, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 27, 2020.
Born February 14, 1935 in Beckley, WV; she was the daughter of the late William Russell Sweeney and the late Roxie Irene Hubbard Sweeney.
Mrs. Cook was a homemaker that was devoted to her faith and to teaching her family to love God. She led a life of service to others and was an example and an inspiration to all that knew her. She was a lifelong member of the Maxwell Hill Baptist Church where she served in the Children’s Ministry. Along with her Godly influence and her selfless love, Mrs. Cook had a heartwarming smile, a kind word for all, a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. These attributes combined to truly define her character. She lived and loved by God’s word.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, John W. Cook, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Dianna Griffith and husband, Harold, Nancy Farmer and husband, Chuck, David Cook and wife, Shari, Patricia Wilson and husband, Kevin, Leigh Ann Jenkins and husband, Ardie; grandchildren, Eric Griffith and wife, Emily, Chad Griffith and wife, Ashley, Todd Griffith and wife, Sarah, Breana Yoke and husband, Justin, Lindsey Underwood and husband, Jared, Tyler Wilson and wife, Paula, Kristyn Ash and husband, Justin, Cory Jenkins and wife, Sydney, and Taylor Wolfe and husband, Jacob; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nola Ann Walker; extended family and a host of friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Jeanette Faye Sweeney Cook will be held 1:00PM Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Maxwell Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Sweeney and Pastor Ken Killen officiating. Following the services, Jeanette will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, John, in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may gather with the family from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the church.
All attending the services are requested to please wear facial coverings and practice social distancing.
