Jesse was born in Parrott, Va., on April 03, 1945, where he completed high school and was drafted to the Vietnam War. There he served in the US Army as both a tank operator and a tank mechanic. Upon his return to the United States, Jesse married the love of his life, Dorothy Price Yearout, who preceded him in death. Jesse was a kindhearted, loving man with unlimited knowledge. He amazed his friends and family with his ability to fix anything—mechanical, woodworking, electrical, or bodywork.
Together, Jesse and Dorothy raised and loved seven children who have provided them with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are their children Sam Snead of Beckley, Elizabeth Eddinger of Beckley, Laura Vest of Beckley, Julie Acord of Charlotte, NC, Steven Snead of Lincolnton, NC, Crystal Holshouser of Josephine, and Jesse Allen Yearout of Charleston, WV.
Jesse was a hero to many. His family and close friends will celebrate his life with an honor guard ceremony at a later date. Until then, his children ask that all his friends break out their guitars and play a favorite bluegrass song in his honor.
