

Born August 4, 1935 in Beckley, he was a son of the late Hubert Garner and the late Margaret Ferguson Garner.
Jimmy served his country proudly in the US Marine Corp serving during the Korean War; he loved playing guitar and banjo, he liked bluegrass and gospel music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Julia Troxler, Teresa Nelson, and Alisa Garner; a step-daughter, Patricia Terrell; and seven siblings.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Loretta Garner of Daniels, children, Hubert M. Garner of AL, Steven Garner of FL and Darlene Garner of FL; step-children, Joseph Allman and wife, Debra of Sandstone, WV, Cheryl Bowles of Daniels, WV, and Jenny Gibson of Stem, NC; five siblings, Mary Ellen Owens and husband, Bobby of OH, Sue McKinney and husband, David of VA, Arlen Mack Garner and wife, Melinda of VA, and Kay Chaney and husband, John of FL; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; extended family and friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Jimmy Ray Garner will be held 12:00PM Friday, December 10, 2021 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Bishop F. D. Sexton and Bishop Harold Newsome officiating. Following the services, Jimmy will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may gather with the family from 11:00AM until time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
