John Thomas "Tom" Busch

John Thomas “Tom” Busch, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 26, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 27, 1944 and grew up on Melon Street in Calloway Heights.

Tom truly lived life to the fullest and was at various times a business owner, coal miner, expert welder and fabricator, inventor, and fearless stock car racer. Even during the last years of his long illness, he remained active, asking only that the good Lord allow him to live long enough to see the birth of his latest grandchild. Husband, father, grandfather and friend, Tom was a beloved part of so many lives. His most treasured relationship, though, was the personal one he had with his Savior Jesus Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Busch and Dixie Shaw Busch. Tom is survived by his wife, Debbie of 27 years; sons, Clyde Paul Busch of Beckley, WV, Thomas Busch and his wife, April of Elizabethtown, KY, Jason Stewart and his wife, Katrina of Morgantown, WV, and Thomas Stewart and his wife, Jackie of Washington, PA; grandchildren, Dakota Simon, Zayne Simon, Aaron Busch, John Thomas Busch, Charlie Stewart and Jack Thomas Stewart; sister, Linda Bova and her husband, Bruce of St. Louis, MO.; mother-in-law, Alice Allen and sister-in-law, Drema Allen, both of Prosperity, WV; and nephew, Josh Hackworth.

Tom attended Sprague Freewill Baptist Church for the past 25 years.

Friends, family and others whose lives Tom touched are invited to Sprague Freewill Baptist Church, 810 Ewart Ave., Beckley, WV, for a Memorial Service to celebrate his life on Tuesday, Mary 1, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 5:00 p.m. Following the Memorial Service, food and refreshments will be served in the activity building of the church.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the WVU Heart and Vascular Center and to the Cleveland Clinic.
