

Josephine Dematteis Acord, 92, of Navarre Beach Florida, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Navarre Hospital.
Born June 15, 1930, in Glen Morrison, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Eugenio Dematteis and Ursula Dematteis.
Mrs. Acord was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a former resident of Beckley, West Virginia for more than 50 years. She was proceeded in death by her husband Lacy E Acord in July of 1993.
Survivors include her two daughters Cindy Acord Williams and her husband Phillip Williams of Navarre Beach Florida, Terri Acord Stafford and her husband Martin “Marty” Stafford of Stafford Virginia; one sister, Theresa Brogan of Cool Ridge West Virginia; 5 grandchildren, Brandi Meadows, Sommer Meadows Daniels, and Tyler Williams of Florida and Amber Stafford Roberson of Cameron, North Carolina and Hunter Stafford of King George, Virginia; and 5 great grandchildren.
While she was small in stature, she was larger than life. She lit up every room she walked into. She also never met a stranger. If you knew her you loved her, family or friend. She lived most of her life in West Virginia. Where she made so many wonderful friends and memories. She then moved to Florida where she spent the latter part of her life, and was able to make so many more friends and memories.
A funeral Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at The Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley, West Virginia with the Reverend Ken Killen officiating. Entombment will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service beginning at 1:00 P.M. also at Blue Ridge Funeral Home.
