

Born June 23rd 1941 in Lansing WV to Clarence and Janice Lewis, he was the eldest of four children. Lloyd was a 1959 Graduate of Anstead High School; after graduation he served in the United States Air Force and was last stationed in Abilene, TX, where he was Honorably Discharged in 1963.
Lloyd was married to Carol Skaggs Lewis on March 6th 1968 in Pearisburg, VA. They had a stillborn daughter, Leah Ann, on February 6th 1970. Their daughter Lori was born on August 10th 1971.
Lloyd had various jobs throughout his lifetime— boxcar painter for the B&O Railroad, spray painter for FMC, spray painter for Long-Airdox, Coal Miner, and Naturalist at Hawks Nest State Park. But his last and greatest adventure was as a National Service Park Ranger in the Gorge where he was raised. Lloyd came alive and thrived sharing his love of birds, the river, and the land around him to the thousands of visitors over his 16 year career.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Janice Lewis; his brother Clarence “Gene” Lewis; and his infant daughter Leah Ann Lewis.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Carol Lewis of Fayetteville; his daughter Lori McKinney of Point Marion, PA; granddaughter Ashton McKinney of Bowling Green, KY; sisters Patricia Beaver (Larry) of Greenfield , IN, Melanie Lewis of Fayetteville; his nieces Kris Lescinsky (Chris), Missy Moore (Ryan); nephew RJ Beaver (Candy); and many close friends who were his chosen family.
Services by Pastor Joshua Anderson will be Friday November 28th 2025 at 6pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley WV. Friends are invited to gather with the family for an hour prior to services.
