
On August 10, 2014, Malcolm Clifford Harmon, 78, of Beckley left this life for the Kingdom of Heaven. Born March 21, 1936 in Winding Gulf, WV to the late Clifford and Maxine Harmon. Malcolm spent his career in all facets of the automotive repair/restoration industry. Additionally he was a successful builder of performance race cars. He also served in the 101st Airborne Division and was wounded in the Korean Conflict. Malcolm was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He also greatly enjoyed NASCAR with Kasey Kahne being his favorite driver. He was a member of the Bradley Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan and a sister, Marla. Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie (Sue) Harmon; children, Danny Harmon and wife Rhonda of Crab Orchard, Steve Harmon and wife Cris of Oak Hill, Sheryl Harmon of Princeton, Laura Repass and husband Randy of Princeton, Leslie Mills and husband Brandon of Douglasville, Georgia, Sharon Curran and husband Jack of Harrisonburg, VA, Marie Dawson of Beckley, Michael McManamay of Daytona Beach, and Heather Carpenter and husband Gerald of Leesburg, VA; siblings, Eugene Harmon and wife Ann of Beckley, Harry Harmon of Dearborn, MI, John Harmon of Columbus, OH. He was also a proud granddad to 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. A celebration of Mr. Harmon’s life will be conducted at 12:00pm noon Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Bradley Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley with the American Legion Post 32 Honor Guard conducting military graveside rites. Visitation will begin at 11:00am and last until the time of service at the church on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Danny Harmon, Steve Harmon, Daniel Harmon, Nicholas Harmon, Bob Evans, Matthew Dawson, Michael Dawson, and Gerry Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Foster, Randy Repass, and Jordan Repass.
