

Marcella Smith-Wiles-Cook, 83, of Shady Spring passed away February 2nd, 2026. Born in Glen Morgan as the youngest of Alton and Nellie Smith's nine children, she lived a full life. She was hardworking, dedicated, and an all around wonderful person to be around. She had many friends and loved ones that would all sing praises of her determination, kindness, and strength. It was these qualities that made her a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—all roles she felt truly blessed to take on.
The last of her siblings she is preceded by their deaths as well as her parents, late husband, James Cook, and son-in-law Lacy Farley. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, son Charles Wiles, daughters Kathy Wiles Lasek (Henry), and Melissa Wiles Farley; grandchildren Jason Lasek, Kevin Lasek, Tim Lasek, Susan Lasek, Andrew Farley, and Nicholas Farley; great-grandchildren Jacob Lasek, Hunter Lasek, Julia Lasek, Claire Lasek, Anna Lasek, Colt Lasek, Owen Lasek and Isaiah Farley. As well as many extended family members and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Services will be privately held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home of Beckley, WV after which she will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Jim Cook, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
