Martha "Marty" Lea Epling

Martha "Marty" Lea Epling, of Cool Ridge, WV went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 1, 2025. She was 73 years young. Marty was born October 28, 1952 in Greenbrier County, WV; she was a daughter of the late Dennis Nicholas O'Brien, Sr and the late Noble Icie Blankenship O'Brien.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Donald Garland Edwards, Jr of Prosperity, WV and James Blaine Brogan of Crow, WV; beloved nephew, Christopher Todd Brogan, of Cleveland, OH, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marty was of the Baptist Faith, and a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Ernest Wayne Epling of Cool Ridge, WV; a son, Brandon Elliott Epling of Cool Ridge, WV; three sisters, Margaret Sue Brogan Epling and husband, Carl of Cleveland, OH, Joyce Ann Edwards of Prosperity, WV, and Donna Jean O'Brien of Beckley, WV; a brother, Dennis Nicholas O'Brien, Jr and wife, Teresa of Kinston, NC; her faithful fur baby companion, Cadie; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and plethora of friends.

Friends may gather with the family from 12:00PM until time of the service. A Celebration of life will be held at 2:00PM Friday, November 7, 2025, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, WV with Pastor Nathan Lane officiating. Following the service Marty will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, WV. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.

The family would also like to invite friends to gather after the service to honor Marty with smiles and laughter for that is how she would like to be remembered.
