Mary "Emily" DeBoard

She was born August 10, 1931 in Itmann, WV. She was the daughter of the late Crawford Hensley and the late Violet (Coalson) Hensley. Her husband, the late Ralph DeBoard will be meeting her at the gate of Heaven.

Emily was a homemaker and caregiver to many. She enjoyed taking pictures, helping others and talking to her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Deboard; Forney Shrewsbury who she loved like a child; a brother, Junior Hensley.

She is survived by a son, Dennis “Denny” DeBoard of Coal City; her daughter, Diane Naylor of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Dewayne DeBoard of Beckley, Christy “Meador” Frey, Donald “DJ” Meador, Sarah Andrews, Grover “Tommy” Naylor all of Fayetteville and Brandon DeBoard and Jenny of Coal City and Kim “DeBoard” Lilly and husband Zelmar Lilly of Daniels, Cheryl Smith of Coal City and Heather Thompson of Coal City; great-grandchildren, Daniel DeBoard and wife of Georgia, Matthew Frey of Fayetteville, Cheyenne “Kenizie” Frey of Fayetteville, Kaileigh Frey of Georgia; and Hunter Lilly of Daniels.

Emily’s surviving siblings include Clifford Hensley and wife, Dreama of Crab Orchard, Lill Hamrick and husband, Jerry of Lillybrook; Donnie Hochstetler of Besoco, Christine Tipton and husband, Gene of Burnsville, NC; and Evelyn Kamits of Grandview.

Emily is also survived by two in-laws, Esther Perry of NC and Bobby Deboard of VA along with many friends and extended family.

Friends may gather with the family from 11:00AM until 1:00PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley.

Graveside Services to celebrate the life of Mary “Emily” DeBoard will be held 1:00PM Wednesday, November 4, 2020 with Pastor Joe Cadle officiating at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Following the services Emily will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

In keeping with the mandate issued by the Governor of WV, facial coverings and social distancing must be practiced.
