Born on July 24, 1932, at Lochgelly, she was the daughter of the late William Baber and Fannie Pearl Baber.
Mrs. Pannell was a member of the Gatewood Church of God. Respected for her caring nature, she served as a motherly presence to many people outside of her immediate family. She cherished her roles as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, dedicating
herself to her family's wellbeing. No one ever left her house without a full stomach and feeling an immense amount of love. Alongside managing her household, she spent many years working as the secretary at the family business, Pannell and Sons Excavating. Music made her happy; she enjoyed singing, playing guitar, and especially listening to John Conlee's "Rose-Colored Glasses."
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Clarence "Punk" Pannell—a bond unmatched in its devotion. She was further preceded in death by ten siblings: Nina Pruitt, Lois Jean Pannell, Thelma Armstrong, Ethel Allen, Melvin Baber, Paul Baber, Kendall Baber, Frank Baber, Grover Baber, Theodore Charles Baber, as well as her son, Thomas Dale Pannell & brother-in-law, Russell Pannell.
She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory forever, including her six children: Barbara Pannell, Linda Pannell, Jonetta “Nena” Pannell, John Pannell, Charles Pannell (with his wife Beth), and Donna Roop (with her husband Aaron). She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, Carlos Pannell (with his wife Beverly), Alonzo Pannell, Phyllis White, Patricia Zilles & many other beloved individuals whose lives she touched profoundly.
