Novella enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers, and caring for her family.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Estel Howerton, and two brothers, James and Clarence Gunnoe; sister, Geneva Birchfield.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Roger (Arletta) Howerton of Alabama, Carlos Howerton of Ohio, Calvin Howerton of Sophia Virginia (Hilary) Montgomery of Florida, and Charles Jr. (Pam) Howerton of Sophia; siblings, Richard Gunnoe, Margaret Karker, and Mary Kemp; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 1:00 pm. Friends may gather with the family from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.
Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
