

He went to be in his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at the age of 80, after a 29-year battle with heart disease.
Oranie is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Jacqueleen Williams Bacon; son-in law Danny Tomlin; granddaughter Samantha Tomlin; sisters, Laura Thompson, Faye Overton, Elma Burgess, Marietta Walker, Madeline Willingham, Rita Palmer, Beulah McClure and Linda Lilly; brothers, Edsil Hodge, Bill Hodge, George (Buster) Scarbro, and Don Scarbro.
Oran leaves behind a daughter Patricia "Patty" (Michael Jr.) Treadway, a son Michael (Kim) Bacon, and daughter Sandra (Harold Jr.) Williams, grandchildren; Shane Tomlin, Dr. Katelyn Tomlin, Noah Williams, Andrew Tomlin, Grace Williams, Chris Treadway, Brady Pittman, Brooke Pittman, and Blake Pittman; great-grandchildren, Shane II, Dean, Santiago, Leo, Emiliano, Karissa, Nikolai, Kinsley, Aleksander, Jace, Nevaeh, Sebastian, Sirinity, Benji, Reese, and Liam, sisters; Jean Williams, Shelbia "Tibby" Dunbar, and Drema Dunbar, and many others who will miss him dearly.
Oranie attended Clear Fork High School. He was a retired coal miner and was known for his exceptional drywall work. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Where there is great sorrow, there was great love.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, June 12, from 12 pm to 1 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home . A funeral service will begin at 1 pm with Pastor Jerry Lawrence and Rev. Gary Maynor officiating. The burial to follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
