

Bo graduated from Virgie High School in Virgie, Kentucky in 1984, where he participated in sporting activities and helped coordinate many reunions. Bo was a 1988 graduate of the University Of Kentucky School Of Journalism and remained an avid follower of all UK sports. He also followed the Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the WV Mountaineers. He also worked at the West Virginia Power Ball Park for several seasons. He was a collector of sports memorabilia and had many friends in the sporting world whom he met through the years. Bo started his career with the WV DHHR. He retired from the department in 2021 after 30 years of exemplary service as a program manager. Bo also made some wonderful friends while working at the DHHR, most of who became more like his brothers and sisters. Bo was a Christian by faith and a member of Wyoming Methodist Church from a young age.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, brother Kelly F. Mikles and his wife Carol of Orlando FL, sister Tracey Mikles Rose of Beckley WV and her two daughters Ella and Jazmin who he loved and adored, and his fiancé Janee Scott who he loved with his whole heart. Aunts and Uncles include Barbara and Eddie Laxton of Key Rock WV, Bev and Andy Riling of Wyoming WV, Judy McNair of Wyoming WV, Patrick Graham of Beckley WV, and Yolanda Graham of Wyoming WV, all of whom were very special to him. Bo is also survived by many cousins who were special to him. A close friend said, “I like to think some of the best parts of us is because of him.”
A gathering will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 6 PM to 9 PM. Services will be held Sunday, November 27, 2022 at 2 PM with Bishop Eddie Laxton officiating. Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Drive in Beckley WV is honored to be serving the Mikles family.
