Mr. Paul Merritt Martin

Born September 21, 1936, in Garden Grounds, WV; he was a son of the late Morris Martin and the late Mollie Kidwell Martin.

Paul loved hunting, collecting unique and antique guns, being outdoors, watching Westerns and Sci-Fi movies. He was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Paul served his country proudly in the United States Army, retiring after 21 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Assunta Martin; siblings, Junior H. Martin, Carl C. Martin, Elsie Couter, Lucille Champe, Hester Harrah, Hazel Thompson, Louise Thompson, Callie Smith, and Hallie Blake.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving daughter, Paulette Hampton, and her husband, Tobe of NC; a sister, Clara Thompson of WV; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Paul Merritt Martin will be held at 11:00AM Friday, June 27, 2025 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley. Following the services, Paul will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may gather with the family from 10:00AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
