Ramona Covey

Ramona Covey, 87, of Fairdale, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, with family by her side. Born on June 25, 1938, in Edwight, WV, she was the daughter of the late Wannie Brown and Lottie Clay Brown. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie Covey.

Her life was marked by generosity, strength, and boundless capacity to care for others. Ramona lived her life with a heart open to others. She was steady and loving, always putting her family first and offering comfort, encouragement, and support whenever it was needed. Her faith guided her steps, and her presence touched everyone, fortunate enough to know her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tina Bishop of Crab Orchard, and her husband Bill Bishop; her son, Thomas Covey of Fairdale, and his wife Tammy Covey; her grandchildren, Rachel Bishop Kidd of Chicago and her husband Dr. Jesse Kidd, and Mark Covey of Fairdale; and her great-granddaughter, Sylvia Kidd of Chicago, who brought her endless joy. A sister Juanita Goldsberry of Columbia, SC and brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Martha Brown. Ramona also leaves behind a loving community of extended family and friends. She deeply treasured the bonds she shared with family and lifelong friends.

Ramona will be remembered for the love she shared so freely, her resilience, and the example she set through her compassion for others. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find comfort in her countless memories that bring us warmth and laughter. May she rest in peace, reunited with those that went before her, and may her memory continue to be a blessing to all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley, WV on Friday, December 5th, 2025, at 10:00AM with the service starting at 11:00 AM.
