Roberk Piercy

Born May 4, 1937 in Roderfield, WV. He was the son of the late Claude Morgan Piercy, Sr and Evelyn Street Piercy. He was a graduate from Welch High School, class of 1955. Roberk was a loving father, loved his family, hunting and his dog Buddy. He was a 20 year retired veteran of the U.S. Airforce. He retired from US Steel #50 mines in Pennicle Creek, WV with 25 years of service. He was a member of Post 8 American Legion and VFW.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Claude Morgan Piercy, Jr., and Regnnold Piercy.

Those left to cherish his memory includes his wife of 36 years, Patricia Furrow Piercy of Beckley; daughter, Roberka Leighann Smigielski and husband Wayne of Beckley.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home at 2pm with Kim Kirby officiating.

The family would like to send a special thank you to David at Athletic and Physical Therapy, Jennifer Hedrick, Melissa Kirk, Johanna Stover, Nicole Daniel and the 4th floor nurses at RGH for all your care.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations of sympathy be made to DAV- Disabled American Veterans.
