Born to parents Albert and Georgia Epperly in Alloy, WV, Ron led a remarkable life full of love, honor, and hard work. Beginning at 18 he joined the United States Army to serve his country and protect the freedom of a great nation; upon his discharge he came home to work in the coal mines in service of the state he dearly loved. His greatest honor however was being a father to his two beloved children, a grandpa to six grandchildren, and a great-grandpa to eight great-grandchildren—all of whom he cherished. A father, maintenance worker, and electrician, free time was hard to come by, but when he got the chance, he enjoyed hunting and welding as frequent hobbies.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Georgia Epperly; brother Thomas Epperly; and his only sister Nancy Toney. Those left to cherish his memory are his brother Larry Epperly; children, Rhonda Davis and husband Jim, and Ronald Epperly II and wife Priscilla; grandchildren Renee Rightnour (Drew), Samanatha Harlow (Josh), Patrick Epperly (Kaylee), Hunter Epperly (Brooke), Candice Epperly, and Kaye Funk (Allen); and great-grandchildren R.J., Bowen, Daxton, McKenzlyn, Waylon, Ember, Weston, and Wyatt.
Blue Ridge Funeral Home has the privilege of honoring Ron’s final wishes to be cremated. A memorial service will be held by his family, to be announced at a later date. Those wishing to share memories or offer the family words of comfort may do so under his obituary on the funeral home’s website, BlueRidgeFuneralHomeBeckley.com
