Born in 1940, Ronald grew up with a deep sense of duty and honor. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving two tours during the Vietnam War. His courage, leadership, and unwavering commitment to his fellow soldiers earned him the respect of all who served alongside him.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked in Cheyenne, Wyoming, for the Husky Oil Company. His meticulous record keeping of everything he did is due to his military background, I'm sure lol.
Ronald is survived by his devoted son, Ronald "Ronnie" Rash; his daughter-in-law, Kathy Rash, and two beloved grandchildren, Miki and Eli Rash, whom he adored; his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and George Bowman and children; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Janice Rash and children; he was also survived by his faithful and loving companion, Sugar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma Louise and Vester David Rash; his first wife, Eileen Rash, and his second wife, Sandra Rash.
A Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Ronald David Rash will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley. Military Graveside Rites by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard will be conducted at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, with burial to follow. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Following the services, the family will gather at the Mabscott Holliness Church Auxiliary Building on Vision Street, Mabscott, to share in food and memories to celebrate Ronald's life.
