Sharon had a lifetime of caring for those who were homebound, usually elderly. She was an extremely kind, generous and wise woman. She was loved by “her ladies” and their families and will be greatly missed.
Those who preceded her in death are her father and mother, Willard and Margarie Shingleton. They lived in Parkersburg, WV and raised Sharon, her two sisters and one brother.
Sharon’s was also preceded by her husband, Mark Stover, a local man who was a longtime member of Crab Orchard Baptist. He was a devout Christian and became a minister. Sharon and Mark were drawn together because of their mutual strong Christian faith. They lived in Pennsylvania for years where he ministered to a church and together, they served at the Salvation Army helping the poor and homeless. After those years they moved to Crab Orchard to care for his mother.
Sharon had a great compassion for animals as well. She dearly loved her little Yorkie, Rosie.
Sharon is survived by her son, Jeff Ward who lives in the Orlando, Florida area and her brother-in-law, Dale Stover who lives in the Grand View area locally, and many friends.
By her request, Sharon will be cremated. There will be no service. Anyone who wants to express sympathy/memories can do so at BlueRidgeFuneralHomeBeckley.com
Sharon would also greatly appreciate a donation to the Humane society in her name. Gratitude is expressed to all those who helped in this difficult time.
