Born to parents Leonard and Virginia Greenawalt, Ginny lived a life full of love. She was known to be thoughtful, sweet, and kind to everyone she met, but had a particularly soft spot for her children and animals. Her big heart and the love she gave so freely made her a wonderful mother and a dear friend to many, willing to do anything she could to help anyone she could. In her free time she enjoyed crafting working on knitting and sewing projects, often with QVC on in the background—a program it could be said she almost single handedly kept in business. Her true passion however was reading, she read well and often, going through books faster than anyone else could have kept up. Once she sat down with a book it was rare that it would last more than a day or two and she would happily recount the stories she’d read to anyone that asked for a recommendation.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Virginia Greenawalt, as well as her older brother "Lenny" Greenawalt Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved children Jason Meadows and wife Candi, Ashley Meadows, Larry Meadows, Sharon Gravely and husband James, and Denise Winebrimmer; her grandchildren Jason Meadows Jr. and Ginny Meadows; a sister Elizabeth “Liz” Johnson; a brother Eddie Greenawalt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was loved dearly and will be missed greatly.
A public visitation service will be held at the Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley, WV from 3pm to 4pm on Monday February 2nd 2026 for those wishing to pay their respects. After the services she will be cremated in following with her final wishes. Condolences, stories, memories, and photos can also be left for the family on Blue Ridge’s website blueridgefuneralhomebeckley.com under her obituary.
