WILLIAM MANKINS MATICS William Mankins Matics, aged 87 and born on August 4, 1927 went home to be with Jesus on Friday, September 12, 2014. He died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lily Mae Ellis and his father, Luther Mark Matics; brothers, James and Johnny; sisters, Beulah and Elsie, and a very special boy Greg Shrewsbury. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jeanette; sons, William Jr, Clifford, Ron, and Curtis and his only daughter, Rebecca; also 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; a very special niece, Laurie; and a nephew, Winfred Agee and his wife, Alice. He will be missed by many friends and family. His remains will be interred at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Per his request there will be no memorial service.
