Anna P. Wilkes

On January 4, 2014, Anna P. Wilkes; beloved wife of Bonner T. Wilkes; devoted mother of Eric Wilkes and wife Ashleigh; loving grandmother of Julia and Emily Wilkes; dear sister of Helga and Gudmundur and the late Jakobina, Sigurlaug, Vilhjalmur, Haraldur, Sverrir.

Born in Reykjavik, Iceland in 1938 to mother Jorunn Gudmundsdottir and father Palmi Vilhjalmsson. While in Iceland she worked for the Mercedes Benz Corporation and the Icelandic Sports Association. For the last 40 years in the United States, she was an active member of the Icelandic Association of Washington, D.C., a loving wife and mother, and more recently a devoted grandmother.

Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 610 W. MacPhail Rd., Bel Air MD 21014, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, 7-9 p.m., and Thursday, January 9, 2014, 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, with a funeral service at 12 Noon. Interment Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
