Happy Heavenly Birthday. My heart is still so sad. I miss everything about you and think of you all the time. I love you still and always will. 

I went to school with Carmen at Mount Saint Joe. Class of 1981. I left Baltimore in 1982 and served in the U.S. Army for 15 years. Carmen was a great friend I remember his yellow vehicle can't remember the year and make but we used to cruise around in it. He was a Real Friend i will miss him so much. May God be with you all. Carmen, I think about you and your family all the time. My heavy heart misses you and how I always thought we would get to hang out more. You offered to have me and Jim over for dinner and that was 2 months ago, I should have made plans right then and there. That was the last time I got to hear your voice! It saddens me to know that will never happen again. You were always a blast to have around and a heart of gold.  We always had so much fun with our families, from soccer, to bull roast and the pocono house and whatever fun ideas you had...we all went along! 

My love goes out to the family, thinking of you all always! 

You will always be my best friend. Until we see each other again..... I promise to keep hustlin and grindin like you did everyday and finish the things you weren’t able to finish and do them how you wanted them to be done.

Carmen it’s been about a month and still can’t believe you are gone. My goodness Every day another memory passes through my mind about all the good times we had when i was living in Maryland. From hammer jacks to other clubs. You and your 20 different color Levi corduroy pants and earth shoes. Then there was the chaps cologne. I tried to find a bottle to send you with but couldn’t find it. Oh yeah and when you thought it was so funny handing me a hot pan of Sicilian pizza when i had no gloves. You got a kick out of that. But i got you back with the Philly cheesesteak that ali threw at you. Ah cuz you left way too soon. I promise to find that cologne and bring it up to you one day. By the way remember this picture on my bachelor party. We didn’t make the whole party. Ok rest easy Cuz. Love from Brooklyn Nello. 

When I think of Carmen, I think of his childlike enthusiasm. I think about how "impossible" was not in his vocabulary. I think about how ideas seemed to go through his mind and come flying out of his mouth at rapid fire and you couldn't help but get excited to hear his excitement about a new business scheme or coming up with a new way to do things. I think about his huge heart and unwavering generosity. I think about the dinners and parties he hosted at his home and the incredible space he created to entertain family and friends. I think about what a great dancer he was and how he made every party or wedding more fun just because he was there.  I think about the love he had for his children and grandchildren and how he lit up the minute they entered the room. I think about the great times we've had over the years...  traveling to Las Vegas and Barcelona and all the fun times in between. I think about the time he hired a male dancer as a gift for my bridal shower and how we still laughed and cringed at the thought 30 years later. I think about how he loved to cook and he loved to enjoy a good meal. I think about all the glasses of red wine we've enjoyed together and the occasional deep conversations we had about faith. My heart smiles when I think about Carmen calling me for spiritual counsel and asking me to pray for him.  I am so happy to have known this amazing man for the better part of my life and the memories of his larger-than-life personality will slowly replace the heavy grief we feel right now. Carmen, I know that somehow, some way, you are moving your way up to a prime seat at the banquet table with Jesus. We will miss you every day!! And when you see my Mom and Dad, tell them I love them, will ya?   Love you! 

I met Mr. Caltabiano at a home fair two years ago. He was a very energetic person and excited about what his company had to offer.  I didn't have the opportunity to undertake a project at that time but I made sure to keep his business card for the future.  

I was scheduled to meet with Carmen and Jon Williams, of Green Scapes, on Monday regarding a project at my home.  I just found out today of his passing when I called the office and heard the message regarding his passing.   I wish to extend my condolences to the family of Mr. Caltabiano as well as his Green Scapes family.

I first met Carmen in 1985/86 when we danced together on TV on the show Shakedown.  He was so full of life, and so genuine that he made an immediate impact on my life.  In later years, he made visits to my restaurants in Harford County, and we laughed and reminisced about the show, and the fun we had.

My prayers for strength and peace to the entire family...Carmen was a beautiful spirit, and a kind, genuine soul.  He touched a lot of lives, and his love and friendship is his legacy.  God bless...

It's hard to begin writing about someone so special. Carmen is one in a million. Great Father, Great Friend, Great Businessman.  We ALL loved him. I feel like I have lost a brother.   If you were ever down, all you had to do was call Carmen and you'd be laughing in 10 seconds.   We know he is in Heaven now, smiling down and making them all laugh up there, like he did for us down here. Rest in Peace my Brother!

I think everyone that has known my Uncle Carmen would agree that he lived life to the fullest. He was always ready for an adventure, whether it was in life or in business, your idea or his. Over the past few months he's been so willing to help me with a possible career change. First, he was ready to get The Italian Stallion pizza business up and running again, with "the perfect location" and me running it. And most recently, I pondered the idea of a food truck, and of course he was on board. He even brought back an arancini mold from his trip to Italy, just so I can test it out. His entrepreneur spirit is one of the many things I will take to heart and carry on. One of my fondest memories was when he helped get ravens playoff tickets for my brother Geaton and I to see the “mile high miracle“ in person. I can still picture him with his custom hard hat and a stuffed raven on top. Just like in his every day life, he was the center of attention. Even the local Denver fans we’re loving it! That is a memory I will cherish forever, and I am so glad I got to experience it with him. Love you Uncle Carmen

A pochi giorni della tua prematura scomparsa ancora stento a crederci, tu che dovevi farci un altra sorpresa a novembre e già ti aspettavo con ansia.
Il mese scorso ci sussurasti che a breve ci saremmo visti più spesso... 
Ci siamo conosciuti troppo tardi ma è stata subito fratellanza, a meno di un giorno insieme mi dicesti siamo gemelli forse perché eravano molto simili, mi ricordo queste parole  "semu i stissi e ora su trubuli"  ci capivamo guardandocci negli occhi, era festa, felicità e allegria. 
Sei e resterai il mio gemello, persona di mille e più valori umile gentile sorridente uomo delle tante idee.
Ci siamo persi troppo presto perché ancora avevamo tanto da fare e progettare. 
Un pensiero nostro più caro va ai tuoi genitori i tuoi fratelli i tuoi figli e nipoti. 
Adesso manchi a molti.
Sarai sempre vivo nei nostri ricordi e nel nostro presente.

Where do I start about this wonderful man! I'll never forget the day Carmen called me, telling me he wanted to stop working in the restaurant business and start up  a little grass cutting business.  He wanted encouragement from me so I said what does your heart tell you then follow your heart!!  And with dedication and hard work he built his future.    His first office was in my family room and i'm laugh while typing this....Steve Stowell and I would watch Day's of Our Lives while having lunch.  "Unbelievable he would say to us, what the hell, I'm working my butt off and you guys are watching Soap Operas!!!
Work was just a word, he never stopped  a workhorse and no job was too big. Jack of all trades.  He worried about everything especially  his crews, they were his guys!!!!  Always finding new work, new builders. Trying to make a good living for all.   He was bigger then life itself.  A leader that we all followed.
His devotion and love for his parents was beyond words.  But his children and Grandchildren where his passion.  Fair and honest and loving to his siblings!  Always asking " how are you doing, is there anything I can do for you?"   
I lost my best friend, by third son, my boy!  But when I pushed him a little to much he would call me his ball breaker and I knew those where loving words!!
So now we are left with this huge void to fill and the only way we can maybe find comfort is remembering the  wonderful amazing times spent together with our families.  The fun, food filled holidays, family reunions, weddings, birthdays, and simple dinners to just talk and have crabs.  Remembering crazy days at the office, the times filled with laughter and serious talks and so so many events, too many to mention.  But they will be repeating in my mind so I can get through your loss.  My sweet boy, Rest in Peace and visit me in my dreams to comfort my sorrow and my broken heart.

Every memory with Carman is filled with laughter! We will miss him and his contagious smile! What a role model this man was to all that new him! I will miss you my friend.

My heart is broken. I honestly cannot believe I am writing this. I still don't believe this tragedy... When this page asked for my memory, my brain was bombarded with amazing times.. through the good and the bad Mr.Carmen was always like my second father. From taking me to Italy twice to introduce me to his amazing family, to taking me to Punta Cana, Ocean City, New Jersey, Florida, the endless random vacations for soccer, to teaching me how to shoot my first gun. Helping me calm down because I was so scared, i will never forget when i shot the gun, i looked at him literally shaking because of the power of the gun, he just started laughing! 
So genuine, so kind.. 
I will never forget this last time traveling to Italy with him, there was a gold necklace i wanted so bad, i wanted to collect charms for my necklace to remember my Italian experience.. Mr.Carmen stayed in the jewelry store after i left, and bought me the charm i wanted, kept it for months, and then gave it to me for my 18th birthday.
Mr.Carmen was always into something, I will never forget the first time i ever went over to his house, i was so nervous to meet him! He was installing his dishwasher, and he gave me the warmest hug, like i have known him for years. He immediately started joking with me!
Another memory to portray how kind Mr.Carmen was, I was driving my car home from the Ravens game, and unfortunately got into a accident, extremely nervous to tell my father.. Mr.Carmen got my car fixed the next day, like new. 
He taught me loyalty, respect, and love! Those were just a few, of hundreds of memories. Mr.Carmen had an amazing soul, so welcoming, kind, and loving. 
He was always the life of the party! 
Love you, my heart is with each and ever Caltabiano and Maceck.. You will never be forgotten, your jokes, and memories will always be told.. A father, son, nonno, uncle, godfather, and friend! You will never be forgotten, this is truly a heartbreaking time. My heart is heavy.

You will truly be remembered for your contagious smile and your good heart. Your laugh could be heard from miles away. It has been a blessing to have you as a friend and someone I could always talk to and you never had judgement. I'm so thankful we were able to catch up a week ago. May you rest easy buddy.

I only had the pleasure to meet Carmen Sr. once or twice, but as I remember he always was captivating and could get everyone's attention in a room full of people !!!   I have heard from several people how he loved a good party and was always very very devoted to his family.  Carmen Jr. is one of my son's best friends and we are both devastated over his dad's passing.  Life is NOT fair.  Sending many condolences to Carmen Jr. and the rest of his wonderful family.
