I only knew Daryl while working with Sandy, but in that time, he made such a warm impression. I loved having conversations with him—he was funny, kind, and always genuine. He once showed me his Matchbox car collection, and it was so clear how much passion and joy it brought him. Even more, his love for his children and grandchildren shined through every story he shared.
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to Sandy, Daryl Jr., and Angel during this difficult time.

I worked with Daryl in the Southern District. He was a dedicated Officer and always had a way of helping everyone he came into contact with, both Officers and citizens. He fought hard for the retirees and worked tirelessly to get the benefits from the City that we enjoy now. He was a legend in the Southern (known by "Big foot "by his friends) and was a true "gentle giant" He was a friend to all who came to know and respect him as a person and Officer. He will be missed by all. Rest easy my friend and we will see you at RollCall again.

I have very fond memories of Uncle Daryl when we would visit Maryland at Christmas. He had a wonderful sense of humor.

I will miss my Uncle’s big booming voice on the telephone. I appreciated his diligent efforts in making sure I knew I was a relevent part of the Buhrman family.  Distance can sometimes make that challenging but he managed to close the distance.  I love you, Uncle Daryl!

What a man of giving and charity. As a police officer, he never stopped giving to anyone in need. A man that looked for the best in everyone. So glad that I got to visit just a few weeks ago. You have blessed many during your travels.

My condolences to both The Buhrman Family and the BPD family on the loss of the legendary Daryl  Buhrman. A lot of what the retirees of the BPD have today is an exact result of  Daryl fighting tooth and nail with the city to ensure that we all are taking care of. Thanks brother. You were a true warrior both on and off the job. May his soul Rest In Peace!!

I have known Daryl for at least 45 years since we were both patrolman in the Southern District.  He was a wonderful man who cared deeply for others.  He always had a sharp wit and did everything he could to help the BPD retirees.  He fought a valiant medical battle but now can rest without worries or pain. God bless him, Mrs. Sandy and the Buhrman family.

Daryl was a very loving person. I have fond memories that I will hold dear to my heart. Prayers and thoughts for the family and loved ones.

Mr. Daryl was truly an exceptional man—one of a kind. We were honored to call him our friend. We will always cherish the time we spent with him—visiting, listening to his stories, and sharing in his laughter. He had a way of making every moment better.

He will be deeply missed, but we don’t believe this is goodbye—just “we’ll see you later.” We may have lost someone we love here on earth, but heaven has gained a true guardian angel.

My condolences to Daryl's family during their time of sorrow and loss. I worked with Daryl in the Baltimore City Police Department's Southern District. Shared many laughs and good times with him. He will surely be missed and never forgotten by many.

It is with deepest sadness that I write this.  Daryl worked with me in the Central.  He could always be counted on to police his post aggressively but fairly.  His nickname, Big Foot, was aptly applied when necessary to make his point.  In later years, he became a friend.  His passion in supporting the BRPBA was as dedicated as was his work as a street cop.  He was a real POLICE.  He will be missed.
