Deborah is survived by husband John Ofsonka of Abingdon, Maryland; her mother Jeanne Klock of Austin, Texas, siblings Frank Lister, Laurie Lister, Julie Lipton, and Renee Severin, and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Deborah was born on July 11, 1949 in Hartford, Connecticut to Franklin and Jeanne Lister (Klock). After studying at Chandler College in Boston, Massachusetts, Deborah lived for a time in Venice, California, while working at the University of California (Los Angeles), and then had a career as executive assistant to the Director at the Institute for Living in Hartford, Connecticut.
Deborah loved flowers, and was adept at indoor flower-arranging, and took great joy in her home garden. She loved pets as well, and was accompanied throughout life by many dogs and cats (particularly Julianne and Nicki).
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Friends and family are encouraged to visit the website at www.schimunekfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The ALS Association, 1300 Wilson Blvd Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22209 ([email protected] ). The family would also like to thank the staff of Johns Hopkins Hospital for their devoted and compassionate care for Deborah in her final illness.
