I know you're gone, but now you're back
to who you were, not what you've been
for eight long years.
I thought I wouldn't  be able to see you again,
the way you were before,
one of my biggest fears.

But I can. I saw your pictures.
It's like you never changed
and that is what I'll remember.
No, not what these last years
stole from you, from me, from our family
before you had to surrender.

My sincere condolences for your loss. Take comfort in Gods promise to comfort all who draw close to him. PSALMS 65: 2.

Dorothy or to me (Gram)was such a wonderful, likeable,strong and selfless woman. Gram didn't have a mean bone in her body and would always try to help me or anyone in need however she could. It was nothing for her to put herself out or give you her last dollar she had without wanting anything in return. Grandma was the matriarch of the family and the glue that held us all together. Once her disease got the best of her and she had to go into a nursing home the family grew apart. Many of my favorite memories were at grams house spending time with her and the whole family at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Our holiday family gatherings are not the same anymore and although nice they just dont feel right not being at grams. I miss her wonderful cooking, sweet laugh, intuitiveness, and her vast knowledge and advice. Grandma taught me how to be chivalrous, polite and how to treat women among other things and if not for her in wouldn't be half the man I am today. I love her so very much and will always remember all the great memories and lessons learned from her. I know she is better off now in the afterlife and is free of pain and no longer trapped in her own body. I wholeheartedly believe she is up there looking down on all of us as our guardian angel and one day I will see her again.... We all will.

Kim and Corie, I'm truly sorry for your loss.  Few will really know the sacrifices and pain that Dorothy endured for the love of her family.  She is the definition of family.   A good person.  An inspiration. Her star will be one of the brightest that shines on Heaven and Earth, still watching over you guys, well gals.  I am a better person for having her pass through my life.

Dad & Momma Dot were two very special people. Growing up on Dukeland St. as teenagers a relationship grow. But has fate has it they went separate ways. After many years they rekindle there love after losing both partners. All thou the relationship was very short there love was strong and deep.  The families merged with open arms. Momma Dot was such a blessing to our family. We can take comfort in knowing that now we have another special guardian angel to watch over us.

I'm very sorry for the loss of Ms.Dorothy, may the memories of the wonderful times you shared with her give you comfort today and always.

Mom Dot, as I called her, was a wonderful Wife to my Dad Edward L. Dunkerly and a special Lady/Mother to her entire family.  I love her for very much for being there for/with my Dad and only wish I could have been there for her.  Words cannot express my feelings.  Although it was hard to accept a new Mom in my life, she brought sunshine to our family by making Dad happy.  She welcomed me with open arms and I cherish our time together.  Mom Dot, you will be missed by all of us but never forgotten. My prayers go out to ALL of my Brothers and Sisters.  I love you, Lena R. Dunkerly
